Most private yacht charters in Ibiza are limited to a maximum of 12 guests, not counting the captain and crew. This is not a limit we set ourselves; it comes from the licence each boat holds. Some vessels are licensed for fewer, such as 7, 8 or 10 guests, and larger groups of 13 to 18 can still charter together by adding a second boat. Here is exactly how it works and what counts towards the limit.
Why are yachts limited to 12 guests?
Each yacht and motorboat on our website shows the number of guests, excluding captain and crew where applicable, that it is legally licensed to carry during the day, as well as the number allowed to sleep on board. Boats that carry more than 12 passengers fall under much stricter commercial passenger regulations, which is why day charters are generally capped at 12. Some of our vessels are licensed for fewer than that. The captain is responsible for the safety of your group and is not permitted to carry more passengers than the licence allows, whatever the reason. The fines are severe and safety always comes first, so the licensed number is never exceeded.
Does the limit include children?
Yes. The capacity of a boat includes children, so if a yacht is licensed for 12 and you are travelling with 3 children, you can bring up to 9 adults. Our yachts are child friendly and carry appropriate child life vests on board, so families are very welcome within the licensed number.
What if we have more than 12 people?
If your group is larger than 12, you can add a tandem boat to carry the extra guests. This is often a cost effective solution for groups of 13 to 18 people, and the second boat can even be set up for water sports such as water skiing, wakeboarding and towable inflatables, which adds a lot of extra fun to the day. Just tell us the size of your group and we will arrange the right combination of boats. Browse the full fleet or get in touch and we will put together the best option for you.
Can we bring pets on board?
Pets are not permitted on our yachts. The crew maintain strict cleanliness standards for every guest, there is the potential for animal allergens to remain on board, and a boat is not a comfortable environment for most animals. Like people, pets can also be affected by the motion of the sea and may become disoriented, so for their wellbeing and the comfort of all guests we keep our charters pet free.
Which yachts are best for larger groups?
If you are travelling with a full group of up to 12, our larger yachts offer the most space to spread out and relax. Popular choices include Belisa, a Mangusta 108, Ariyas, a Sunseeker Predator 84, Georgia, a Sunseeker Predator 82 and Ella, a Riva Argo 90, all of which combine generous deck space with a full crew.
